Why the Grout We Choose Makes All the Difference

Most people focus entirely on picking out the right tile. That makes sense - it's the part you see. But here's the thing: two bathrooms can have the exact same tile and look completely different a few years down the road. The difference usually comes down to what's holding that tile together.

We use Laticrete Permacolor grout on every job. It's not the cheapest option out there, and that's the point. It holds color consistently, resists staining without needing a sealer, and doesn't crack and shrink the way lower-grade products tend to. We also pair it with Laticrete Latasil silicone caulk so the transitions blend and nothing looks pieced together. It's a system, not just a bag of grout.

A lot of contractors will use whatever's on sale or whatever their supplier stocks. We get it - margins matter. But shortcuts in the materials stage show up fast. Grout that stains, lines that crack, color that goes uneven. Those aren't problems that fix themselves, and they're not cheap to repair.
